Trading the Election...

If you are foolish enough to attempt to trade the election then I would hope that you have a system that is designed to handle volatility. Myself personally, well I just won't do it. This particular event is a market makers dream or a HFT dream where stops will be run all over. People holding positions will be forced out and people trying to get in will be killed. Oh sure there will be excuses but these events serve only the crooks who stop hunt and nothing more. It is easy to justify a ridiculous swing when you have this sort of event. You don't really need any reason.
I will simply be flat and I recommend you do the same.
The actual election itself is one for the record books that is for sure. One of the underlying factors is the tremendous dislike of both candidates by the populace. What is lacking in both of them is pride, humility and decency to the point of being repulsive to most people. Hillary is as corrupt as the day is long and it is obvious for anyone to see. Trump is arrogant and egocentric while at the same time being as much of the problem as he is the solution. Truly staggering that these two are the best that the US has at the moment. Not necessarily a refection of choice but rather a reflection of where society has gone. When you lose your self-respect as a person this is what you get. When it filters into society this is what happens. When the have's are at the level they are at the moment and the have not's are at their respective levels this is the end game. Where once these people with their billions were looked on as a role model to aim higher they are now looked on as bottom feeders that are completely responsible for the lack of opportunity now. In essence this is not really true but certainly the opportunities are scarce. Things are tough and winter has returned. When you are used to the warm weather for decades this is not something that anyone can stomach. We begin to look to blame anyone and everyone for our problems which in truth are nothing more than a reflection of the times. Politicians know this and they try to find ways to pacify the crowd. They know their livelihood rests on their ability to keep the herd happy.
No intelligent person in their right mind would want to take this position at the moment. It is a no win situation. That is why the filth has risen to the top. They are the only ones who want to take the role. Not for any sort of change but for power. Change is baked into the cake but it will manifest itself in ways that are not apparent at the moment. You can rest assured that happy days and not going to happen any time soon. I suspect that around 2025 is the closest you can expect a bit of an uptick in social mood. A full eight years from now. In the interim it will be ugly. Very ugly. You can't blame the academics for trying. They know what happens too and they are afraid. Everyone is afraid. This mentality begins to feed on itself. It only exacerbates the problems to the point where you get war. It is almost inevitable. If wealth gets into the hands of the people then there is an alleviation of the problem and only if this happens. They talk of QE for the people and well, not a bad idea when you are desperate to stave off a depression. You see people ask for this where they wish to have a correction but it is not that easy. I don't think there is anyone alive to tell anyone how bad it really gets in a depressive time like 1929. Some bear markets this way last for 500 years or more and there is a stagnation of society for many decades or centuries before things get any better. Once again a cycle that feeds on itself. It is human nature. So don't be too hard on them. They are trying. They know as well as you what happens in this sort of atmosphere. They are thought of as stupid and careless. I am talking about central bankers who's actions are looked on as reckless. However they are doing what they can. They don't have that many tools to fix all problems but I suspect that the alternative is not what they want. In truth I don't either. My father lived through the great depression and let me tell you he rarely talked about it as times were that bad. I wonder how many people in this day and age could handle it? Not many. My father was of the hardened, grizzled, population long gone now that we haven't been conditioned to for decades. I suspect suicides would spike to levels not seen ever and wars would be rampant. So you are damned if you don't but you are also damned if you don't. Not a nice place to be. Give them a little slack ok. Cheers!
