Where are We Headed?

This is a post that I am writing for all. I do most of my stuff on video now but I think that I would like to put this in writing.
If I was a conspiracy theorist (which I am not) I would be seriously wondering what the hell is going on at the moment. We have a shut down of economies. We have a collapse of rigged markets. We have social unrest of the likes of which we have not seen before.
You know where I am going with all this, don't you?
The problem here is one of accountability like I said before when the great recession happened in 2008. When you bail out entities the problem is one of accountability. Actions become less important and the line of what is right or wrong continues to be blurred. This is the consequences that are not necessarily immediately measurable but yet become profoundly important in society over time.
I am not a doom and gloomer. Nor do I ever wish to be that sort of a person because I think that authorities are trying to avert a "day of reckoning" because they too know where that leads.
The problem is can we avert the inevitable anyway or are we just simply making the inevitable much worse than it had to be. I don't really know that for sure but it sure seems that we are likely headed down this road whether we like it or not.
Is it a deliberate act? I doubt it.
Some things or events happen and they cannot be stopped. This might be one of those events.
The end of everything as we know it doesn't scare me at all. Perhaps it will be a better world once the smoke clears and things go back to having an order of some sort and stricter rules?
We have engaged in a period of good times for a long time. The bad ones inevitably follow but it does not mean that progress has to stop. Stagnation is not a good thing. There are times in our world where we slipped into dark periods of no growth and hardships for a long time, measured in centuries. I think that the authorities understand this too like most people of average intelligence can.
The problem is more one of emotion. When we are scared and nervous we don't act rationally. We don't see the world in a positive sense like we once did. We cannot think clearly and this is what I am more concerned about.
I cannot say to a family that is struggling to survive. "Hey, ten years from now we will eradicate all disease and you will be far better off than you are now". They don't really care about that even though it is an incredible human advance. They care only about surviving now. Rightly so.
You see history is riddled with good intentions. Authorities that have tried to do things to help but only made the situation worse. I think that is the problem we face now. We are on the pinnacle of complete social unrest and we all know where this leads. The bigger problem is "Can we stop the slide or are we destined to reach this point regardless"?
       A good question isn't it?
It is like the markets at the moment. Everyone is calling for further downside but will this happen when everyone expects it?
You also know my take on this area.
The market at the moment is a bull market until proven otherwise. We are at the 50% retracement of the move down and it would seem that technically we are poised for further lows but everyone expects it now? Hmmmm.....
Oil is dragging down the other sectors as it continues to sell-off. It is trying to form a base here but demand will continue to slide. As long as oil is sliding I do not think the indexes will rise too much. However, don't bet against them until I tell you to. Now is NOT the time.
In the meantime as hard as it is trying to be positive. Help others. Be kind to less fortunate fellows and keep trying to light candles in the darkness for if you don't then madness will surely prevail.
On another note, I think that most politicians mean well but often they blunder into exactly the thing that they are trying desperately to avoid. For example, if you were going to start a war what would you do?
First of all, you would rob people of their life savings and make them endure though times with little opportunity for a period of time. Over the past twelve years, we have seen the markets rise but very little of that wealth has been felt in the middle to lower classes. If anything they have worked harder than ever to only fall further and further behind in debt and payments. Secondly, you would rob them of their health. This has been done not as a direct result but rather as a by-product of pharmaceuticals, poor diet, and high stress. People are not healthy these days. It is a fact. Thirdly, you would isolate them denying them social interaction (we are social people) and basic needs. In lieu of this, you would get angry, frustrated and fearful people with no way to release their pent up stressors. Do this for a few months.
What would be the end result?
War.
This is what I mean by the unforeseen consequences of good intention. Politicians, as a rule, think they have to do something when often times doing NOTHING is the best recourse. Cheers!
