Super Sunday and Why All the Noise....

Superbowl Sunday is upon us. It is all in all just another day for me but for millions it is the end of another football season which saw plenty of ups and down for the NFL. The NFL has lost plenty this season. Most notably respect from the people that pay to see it. It has happened in most sports but until this year football was essentially unscathed.
You may be wondering why so many people want new champions this year and why they are just a little bit tired of the Patriots winning. It is not so much they are tired of the Patriots themselves but rather it is more a reflection of how they feel about their leaders and their country at the moment.
They are tired of the lies. They are tired of cheaters and people doing what they want and getting away with it. They are tired of hearing about the Patriots who I am  sure are not the only team that cheats but unfortunately they got caught more than once and so it makes one wonder.
The herd wonders, "well how often has it happened where they did not get caught" and "what else did they do".
Sort of like Joe Paterno at Penn State. No one will remember what a great coach he was but rather that he allowed Sanduski to perform his sick acts for a very long time without saying a thing. Effectively sheltering this pedophile and the damage he was doing.
You see it doesn't take much to fall from the graces of the crowd. Most boxers understand this well. Tom Brady is likely the best quarterback when the game is on the line to ever play. I don't think that many will dispute that. However one wonders how he has managed to do this when father time says that it is all but impossible. One wonders how many other games he used deflated balls to help his team. One wonders what other schemes he and Billichek did over time that helped the Patriots to their legendary streak.
You see it causes one to question. To bring into light that there may have been more schemes whether there was or not. It causes one to look poorly at the player and at the team even though it is no secret that enhancers are used by everyone these days.
       No one likes a cheat.
Ask Barry Bonds or Mark Mcguire about that one.
There are long lists of great athletes that crashed and burned because they couldn't seem to keep clean or clear of problems. Jon Jones is the most recent. It does not matter what he does now he will never recover the legendary status he once had. Shame has already seen to that.
There are a few notables that retired great. Like Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan, and Barry Sanders to name a  few. They did so because they remained classy until the last day. They did not cheat that we know of.
In today's world of medical miracles and biological enhancements we question everything now. We wonder what these great players are taking to make them more great. Brady represents this new age now. He represents all that we have grown to despise about professional sports even though he may not necessarily be a part of it.
The point is, "we think he is".
I have been a vicious rival of the Eagles all my life from being a Dallas Cowboy fan. I as a result usually never wanted them to be good. However today is a different day altogether. Today I am a full Eagles fan. Something that may never happen again in my life time.
I am an Eagles fan because I like the other team that much less.
Like Trump versus Hillary I am left with choosing between the one I like less versus the one I like the most.
I had my time in the limelight over the years with the Cowboys but today I would like nothing more than to see Tom Brady get his due which should have happened the past two years but for some notorious collapses by teams that it should not have happened to.
With today's super bowl on the line for the two teams playing I can't help but think that this is simply another story of the good versus the bad. The evil empire versus the rebels. Today we can surely relate to the rebels. Go EAGLES!
